History Channel: Events That Shaped Our Lives ReviewDon't buy this. No matter what you're expecting, this isn't it. The package itself only refers vaguely to hearing "actual radio and television broadcasts" and "veteran newsmen Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather provide insight into some of the most monumental events of the past 100 years"....well, there are practically NO "actual radio and television broadcasts," just a few 2 or 3 second snippets, with people usually talking over them. Even if you take a chance like I did and buy the thing, you find when you open the package NO TRACK LISTING. Nothing. Just 3 one-hour CDs.
What these CDs actually are: some sort of documentary made in 1999 or 2000 by the History Channel, narrated by Dan Rather, interviewing such CBS luminaries as Leslie Stahl, Andy Rooney, Walter Cronkite, etc. about their impressions of the 20th century. Just some journalists rapping about what they think the most important events of the century are. Now, this in itself is fairly interesting, but I was so angry at being so ripped off about the CDs contents that I couldn't get past it. Maybe you can. Just keep in mind, if you're buying this hoping for some actual of-the-era broadcasts, you will be sorely disappointed.History Channel: Events That Shaped Our Lives Overview
