The Loss of the S.S. Titanic - a Survivor's story ReviewThis is a fascinating account of the tragedy of Titanic, written by an actual survivor only 9 weeks after the sinking occurred. While some of the language is far different to what our customs are now, as far as writing goes, the book is a gripping, first hand account of that fateful night. I read the entire book in less than 2 days--truly a page turner. While the author DID end up being wrong about some facts (for example, he didn't think the ship broke in two and evidence from the '85 search shows it did), his book is extremely accurate as to most events--and particularly to the human experience from a survivor's view.
