Lost Secrets of Ayurvedic Acupuncture Reviewi was quite excited to get this book and see what it was all about. to be honest i dont see it as being that great of a resource for a few different reasons. the theory is essentially TCM theory and point locations/indications with a few little tidbits of ayurveda thrown in on top of it. keep in mind too that tcm theory, although containing SOME of the knowledge of chinese medicine for the past few thousand years has really only been around for half a century. a great deal of this book could just as easily have been a tcm point location/indication text and one would never know the difference. im not sure where the author's training came from , but its much too close to be coincidence. this book may be useful for a trained acupuncturist to try and incorporate some ayurvedic principles in to their work, but really i think there are much better places to look first for this, david frawley's marma book comes to mind. for an ayurvedic practitioner, i obviously dont think this book would allow one to be ready to start needling patients, and hopefully that isnt the intention of the author. there where a few interesting parts of this book, the historical aspects and traditional needle design in particular was entertaining. and the getting an answer to the puzzling question that has been running through my mind of where ether and air fit in to the chinese 5 elements, and wood and metal vis versa was also cool.Lost Secrets of Ayurvedic Acupuncture OverviewAyurvedic Acupuncture is based upon the Suchi Veda, a 3,000 year old Vedic text which, in the Ayurvedic system, is the Science of Acupuncture. It has been practiced as an accessory therapy since it was used in conjunction with other forms to effect healing. It belongs more correctly to the branch of surgery, one of the eight medical discplines of Ayurveda.Want to learn more information about Lost Secrets of Ayurvedic Acupuncture?
